Vehicle Fitments

This JDM 1MZ-FE long block is designed for the following North American (USDM) models:

  • 1999-2003 Lexus RX300

  • 1999-2003 Toyota Highlander

  • 1999-2003 Toyota Sienna

Installation & Technical Notes

The 1MZ-FE is a highly reliable engine, but swapping a JDM unit into a Lexus RX300 requires specific component transfers for 100% compatibility:

  • Long Block Conversion: This sale includes the engine block, cylinder heads, and internal rotating assembly. You must transfer your original USDM intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, wiring harness, and all sensors (Knock, Cam, and Crank) to ensure the engine communicates correctly with your Lexus ECU. (Please keep and use JDM Power Steering Pump)

  • Knock Sensors: On the 1MZ-FE, the knock sensors are located in the "valley" under the intake manifold. We strongly recommend replacing both knock sensors and the knock sensor wire harness during the swap, as these are common failure points.

  • Essential Maintenance: We strongly recommend replacing the following parts during the swap:

    • Timing Belt Kit: Replace the belt, water pump, and hydraulic tensioner (Interference Engine).

    • Valve Cover Gaskets: JDM engines can sit for periods; fresh gaskets prevent future leaks.

    • Spark Plugs: NGK Laser Platinum (BKR6EP-11).

    • Engine Oil: 5W-30 Full Synthetic Oil.

  • Oil Sludge Prevention: To maintain the health of your new engine, use high-quality synthetic oil and adhere to a strict 3,000–5,000 mile oil change interval.
